New funding from a Royal Society Research Grant, awarded to i-sense Lecturer Dr Michael Thomas, will help support research using Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS) approaches for quality control of antibody reagents.

The work will look to establish a label-free SERS sensing system in the London Centre for Nanotechnology to monitor antibody glycosylation using nanoparticle conjugates.

This research seeks to explore the use of label-free SERS as a rapid, adaptable approach for performing quality control on next-generation antibody therapeutic and diagnostic products, as well as opening up new opportunities for nanoparticle-based sensing.
