A huge congratulations to i-sense Deputy Director, Prof Molly Stevens, who was among 51 of UK’s most distinguished scientists elected as Fellows of the Royal Society this year.

The Royal Society gives Fellowships to scientists in recognition of ‘contributions to science, both in fundamental research resulting in greater understanding, and also in leading and directing scientific and technological progress in industry and research establishments.’

Prof Stevens, who is Prof of Biomedical Materials and Regenerative Medicine at Imperial College London, has been part of i-sense since its inception in 2013 and has led a large team of researchers at Imperial College London on materials-based approaches for the development of infectious disease diagnostics. Recent work has been in adapting these approaches to develop point-of-care diagnostics for COVID-19.

“I could not be more grateful for the talented team of postdocs and students, as well as fantastic collaborators, that have enabled us to do such exciting research,” says Prof Stevens.
