Exploratory Projects

The Exploratory Projects programme is designed to close the expertise gaps in the i-sense consortium by bringing in new partners from collaborating institutions.

Calls will focus on key technology gaps in the consortium and the current surveillance and diagnostic needs for our infectious diseases targets, as identified in Flagship 1.

Exploratory projects are intended to be short, high‐risk, new collaborations (3‐12 months), between two or more partners from the i‐sense institutions and will complement the Core Research Programme. Outputs of these projects form the basis of additional grant applications.

The first major Exploratory call: 'Early Warning Sensing Systems for Influenza' has been launched and is now closed. Click here to see the four projects that have been funded for 2014.

The next funding round will be in 2015.
